Everything College Students Need to Know about Health Insurance Plans

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:35 pm

Visit and go to this awesome resource for compare health insurance plans pointers

It’s very easy to disregard medical insurance when planning for a college education. Students are generally at an age where health insurance is not the first thing they consider. Teenagers are wont to suppose they are immortal and naturally they can not become ill. The truth is, this is rarely the case no matter how healthy an individual may appear. A suitable student health insurance plan isn’t for the comfortably off, it’s in truth a necessity.

Those lucky enough to be included in a family policy are by and large covered up until their twenty-third birthday. For anyone who does not have cover via a family plan, a necessary part in preparing for school must be getting an appropriate health insurance policy. So what is fundamental in an insurance policy for college students? So what is your deductible? A deductible is a yearly payment which has to be made before the health benefits start, akin to a car insurance plan. For instance, if the deductible is $500, you will have to pay that amount before claiming any financial benefits from the insurance.

So what’s a co-pay? When you meet the deductible, normally for each trip to the physician, medication, or operation you will be expected to contribute a pre-determined part of the bill. This is called co-pay.

What should your insurance plan extend to? Many medical insurance policies include Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA). Basically this means particular specialists might be omitted from your list of health professionals or not be included on the insurance plan. Most plans should provide a directory of approved professionals, so look at that when you select a medical plan for college students. What exactly does the term catastrophic insurance coverage mean? Restrictions are commonplace in health insurance plans specifically for college students particularly concerning terminal illness, the amount of cover included in virtually all student medical insurance policies is in general less than a regular insurance plan.

What about the limits? Low-cost student medical coverage policies may place certain restrictions. It’s crucial to study your insurance policy carefully to find out just what is and is not covered.

Keep any medical insurance details with you everywhere. Illnesses are not only not possible to plan for, they are also likely to hit when least expected. Make sure to be au fait with the ins and outs of your affordable college health insurance plan, whether you are included with your parent’s insurance or with your own selection of insurance.

Inspiration for the Online Article Writer

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:32 pm

Recently I was asked if I had any inspiration for the online article writer and indeed I have. As an article writer myself I can say that it is not as easy as it looks, in fact it is quite hard. One comment, which I think relevant to this topic and that is; it is amazing how lucky you get when you are working hard.

Sure it is an every day cliché yet it has an important theme in article writing and let me tell you why. You see currently there are novelists who can pump out a novel in thirty days, that is to say 50,000 to 60,000 words or more. Yet currently I am at 285,000 words average each month and that comes out to be just about 570 separate online articles. If you want to become a better writer, well write a lot and that means a lot of words you see?

With regard to the over all inspirational approach to writing lots of works, I would like to hereby plug the following people who happened to write some words of their own. These inspirational figures are Calvin Coolidge, Winston Churchill and Vince Lombardi as they talked about Perseverance, pressing on and never giving up as the attributes to success, glory and winning. And my best advice to online article writers is to stop stressing on perfection and start worrying about the importance of what you are saying.

You see, If you worry too much about how you are saying, what you are saying, then you are bound to forget why you are saying it, who you are saying it too and then you will surely forget why it needs to be said and thus have lost the entire goal, mission and purpose. And then you end up starting over or crinkling the paper so to speak and in the end that serves no one.

If one lacks the will to start writing, which is about the easiest thing to do, then it is definitely going to be difficult to convince them that they can. That is to say if they believe they can’t, well then they are right and it would be difficult for anyone to move them from self-pity and doubt to writing. The first step is to pick up the pen and write something. Anything. And as much as possible, so think on this.

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:03 pm

One of the most popular courses of study institutions have for pupilslearning maths is algebra. Although studying algebra is viewed tough, there are a lot of pupils taking this course.

Although a lot of students are not genuinely sure of what is included in algebra but it is not frightening as a lot of individuals think. Some of the basic parts of algebra include finding least common multiple, factoring difference of cubes and reducing fractions.

When pupils are studying mathematics, particularly at college stage it is very significant for them to employ some planning and also some persistence in learning mathematical concepts from easy to hard ones. There are a lot of college maths courses at starting stage that are built-up around establishing a sound path for the route into higher mathematics as they enable learning the primary skills that are required.

Who can Help?

There are a lot of different software systems that can be used to assist you with algebra and these include programs such as algebra tutors. A tutor for algebra is also a surefire way to enhancing your algebra skills. The software packages are very good and will assist you with all aspects of algebra including quadratic equations , drawing linear inequalities, adding fractions with different denominators and on mastering the basic and more complex topics of algebra.

If you are just commencing in the world of mathematics, it is a good idea to do one of the introductory stage courses as they will instruct you the very fundamental principles and build on that so that you are able to get up to the more advanced level of maths. The beginning courses also teach you the science of algebra through the use of a significant number of different good examples and methods so this is a perfect beginning point for the beginner to algebra.

Why Virtual Tutors are Not Ideal?

The only problem with mathematics courses of study is that they sometimes do not follow matters in a very logical order and this especially is the case when you are a student at high school. A lot of the students at school are really very ill-prepared for learning algebra and they do not really have no background knowledge in it.

Month of Love – February

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:07 am

Come February and we look ahead in anticipation to the season of love. Spring is in the air, flowers are in full bloom, and even the most pragmatic of us find a swing in our steps and our spirits rising without any specific reason. So, what is this magic in the air that we can distinctively perceive? The romantics would say that this is the magic of love.

February 14th is celebrated throughout the world as Valentine’s Day. Legend has it that St. Valentine was a priest in Rome, who defied the order of the Roman emperor of the time and secretly married young couples. Claudius II, who was the emperor at that time, decreed that young men in Rome should not marry or get engaged. The emperor believed that his soldiers would not be motivated to fight, if they got entangled in romantic liaisons or affairs of the heart. When the emperor found out about the defiance, he beheaded St. Valentine on February 14th. After his death, the priest who supported love was named a saint. Valentine’s Day is celebrated each year to honor St. Valentine.

That was long before any of us were even born. But, still we can identify with the frustrations of unrequited love in those turbulent times! We can look back and say that we would never allow such outrages to take place in the present day and world. Every 14th day of February, we remember the sacrifices that people have made in different ages and across different parts of the world for love and we vow to cherish our loved ones with all our heart and soul. All of us, from teenagers with dreams in their eyes to couples celebrating the 25th anniversary of a shared life, open our hearts and bow our heads to the most cherished of all emotions – love.

Actually, the times that we live in are more open and accommodating. We have gained immensely in terms of materialistic acquisitions and are blessed with a better standard of living than even a generation before us. However, there has also been a gradual loss of innocence, simplicity and the belief in eternal love. At present, there a large number of people amidst us, who are leading a double life. From the outside, we are hip and happening; we change our life partners and girl friends as frequently as we change the models of our cars. But, I believe that, inside all of us there is a simple person, who still believes in the wonder of love and its tremendous power in changing the courses of our lives. The celebration of love and Valentine’s Day can be better understood in this context.

So with the advent of February, we start looking at the world in a different light. Maybe, it is due to the hype and hoopla about the celebration of Valentine’s Day or maybe we turn to the most pure and sanctified feelings in our hearts in an effort to deal with the harsh realities of today’s world. Or maybe we need a cause to connect with our souls and discover our better sides; and Valentine’s Day gives us an occasion to do just that without any feeling of guilt on our naivety and our belief in love.

Whatever may be the reason, it is a fact that February represents a lot of good things for a large number of people in different regions of the world. We greet the season with faith in ourselves and in the whole world; to many of us February is a month of miracle, faith, hope, prayer and love. I am convinced that despite all the obstacles that we, human beings, have conquered in our journey towards attaining economic and material prosperity, we would be still indebted to this month of love and laughter for what it signifies in all our lives.

Why Sales Management has Special Insight on Sales Calls

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:24 am

If you have a sales manager or someone above you in sales are you using their special powers? Your boss probably has insight you don’t know about that will break open sales for you. When you learn how to use this, everyone wins in sales. Most managers would love to be taken advantage of in this manner. I can’t think of one sales manager who wouldn’t want to be used like this.

Understanding Management Perception and Insight
Some business owners or sales managers don’t realize that they have special insight when it comes to outside sales. Whenever they join a sales call with a salesperson, everything changes. The dynamics are different because there is a level of respect for their position, which affects the sales call. Sales managers can generate a similar effect on appointments. The advantage they have is their position and perception. When they join an appointment with a salesperson their title raises the bar for discussing subjects the customer wouldn’t normally consider. The business owner can ask tough questions the salesperson can’t ask and get the same response. Salespeople can’t accomplish this alone.

Would you believe a salesperson? I wouldn’t believe most of the salespeople I meet. We know that in many cases your title doesn’t say salesperson. You know prospects look upon us with this stigma and this won’t change anytime soon. The only way we can make the transition from a salesperson is to become a trusted consultant or strategic partner. Even if we make this transition, it will go a lot easier if we bring along a business owner or sales manager who caries the weight of a higher position.

Management Thinking is Different
Do you realize that business owners think differently than the typical salesperson? They do! There are really only two factors that an owner will base a business decision on. Those two factors are what drives them and keeps them in business. They also like to do business with individuals who understand and share the same values they do. It is the reason that P’s (Presidents) and VP’s (Vice Presidents) like to do business with one another. Since we aren’t P’s we either have to act like one or bring one to appointments.

Value Proposition One
The business owner thinks about how this investment will make money every time they make a decision about something. If our service doesn’t meet this number one criterion, we are wasting the high-level contacts time. However, because our boss thinks this way too, they are in the perfect position to relay the profit opportunities with our important clients. They can get away with tough questions and they can challenge a tough prospect with reasons that a salesperson just can’t get away with.

Value Proposition Two
The second reason is will this product or services save me time or money? The business owner thinks about this every time they make a purchase decision. If our service doesn’t meet this number two criterion, we are wasting the high-level contacts time. Fortunately the boss thinks this way too. They can relate cost saving opportunities with clients and can get away with hard-hitting questions. They can dispute an issue with reasons a salesperson just can’t get away with.

Why P’s like to Communicate With P’s
Bring management along on your c-level account presentations and closing appointments. Your boss has the secret powers to ask the tough questions that a salesperson can’t ask. Bringing them along will also raise the level of importance to the account that your contact will appreciate. Remember, P’s like to talk with P’s. If your management representative gets nervous, just remind them that they are a natural for this task and ask them to relate as a peer, on how your solution will save the prospect money or reduce costs. Just be sure you have your facts straight when you turn your boss loose with their secret powers. If not, ask your boss to confirm your assessments before the meeting.

How to Use Public Speaking to Attract Clients

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:15 am

When Robert Middleton moved his marketing consulting practice, Action Plan Marketing, to Palo Alto, California several years ago, he started his business from scratch. He had left his well-established client base several miles away and now had to find strategies to generate new clients.

Because Middleton had always spoken to promote his business, he turned to public speaking with a vengeance. He researched local organizations whose members comprised professional business owners, his target clientele. He called chambers of commerce, business groups and others likely to be interested in his three-hour marketing workshop.

Within a few months, Middleton had spoken at over a dozen organizations, establishing his reputation as a marketing expert for professional service firms. He quickly became a known entity, having personally introduced his business and credentials to hundreds of prospects.

Better yet, Middleton’s speaking strategy helped him land all the business he could handle in a relatively short time period.

Over the course of sixteen talks, he averaged one new client each time. Today, the seminars he conducts at business groups and, increasingly, teleconferences promoted through his web site generate more than 50 percent of his business.

Speaking Is Selling

Many business people never consider standing in the front of their buying public to share professional wisdom. If you’re one of them, you’re missing the boat.

Speaking is a marketing strategy you can immediately embrace to get in front of potential customers. Speaking puts you within handshaking distance of your best prospects, many times helping you close sales before you leave the room.

By speaking regularly you can end the uncertainty of knowing where your next client will come from. Speaking can help you reach dozens, and sometimes hundreds of your best prospects every time. Speakers report that speaking regularly continuously fills their prospect pipelines, ensuring a steady stream of new clients and customers.

Speaking is effective because it showcases your knowledge before groups of people who eagerly show up to hear it. Your prospects may tune out advertising, but they’ll pay attention to your talk because it presents your knowledge in polished form to people who think it will help them.

Speaking gives you tremendous visibility and credibility that increases over time. Whenever you are in the front of a room, you get noticed. People will remember who you are and what your business does. The more people see you speak and see your business name, the more successful people think you are.

Speaking gives prospects a taste of what you offer in a non-threatening environment. When they are in a room full of people, they feel comfortable. There’s safety in numbers. They do not feel the sales pressure of a one-on-one meeting. It’s also low risk, as chances are, they didn’t pay as much to hear you speak as it would cost to hire you.

Get On The Program

You don’t have to be a seasoned speaker to put speaking to work for your business. If you’re willing to speak for free, you’ll find that there are more outlets available than you’ll know what to do with.

“If you can get up there and do a decent job you will immediately position yourself as an expert in the minds of an audience,” says business coach, author and professional speaker Caterina Rando. “You only have to be ‘decent’ to make an impact. Even though speaking can be scary at first, anybody can find groups to speak to and master the basics of giving a good speech.”

Choose the right topics

Before you contact an organization about speaking, create sample talk descriptions with catchy titles. For example, a financial planner could avoid generic descriptions like “Planning Your Retirement,” and use a more snappy title like “Enjoying Your Gold Years On A Champagne Budget”.

Targeting speaking opportunities

Once you are clear about your topic and its benefit to the audience, make some calls and offer yourself as a speaker. Here are ideas of where to look for a free podium. Many of these groups need speakers all the time.

  • Chambers of Commerce

  • Service Clubs

  • Industry Specific Associations

  • University Extensions

  • Professional Associations

Getting the most out of your speech

The promotional value of your talks goes beyond your time on the podium. Often, when you speak to a group, the group publicizes the event. Many people who do not attend the event will still read the information, or will hear about you from other attendees, and may give you a call.

Consistency is the big thing. Getting out there and speaking on a regular basis keeps your pipeline full of prospects. When you’re done, put a follow up mechanism in place, even if it’s a simple mailing or newsletter. If you keep in contact with people who’ve heard you speak, you get more long-term leverage from your efforts.

Rockland: Maine’s BestKept Secret for A Wedding Destination

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:24 pm

In 2004′ Rockland Maine celebrated its 150th anniversary, yet very few in the past would have ever considered it to be a place for a vacation, let alone a romantic getaway experience or wedding destination.
Perhaps, this is a draw back to the time when visitors would experience the unpleasant whiffs emanating from the SeaPro fish-rendering plant. In fact, it was not uncommon to hear the jingle: “Camden by the Sea, Rockland by the Smell.”

All has now changed in Rockland as SeaPro, along with the town’s two sardine-packing and other fish processing plants, have departed along with their odors. There is now a handsome harbor- front with a walking trail extending over four-miles connecting several points of interest as Snow Marine Park, Harbor Park, where the annual Maine Lobster Festival is held, Rockland Fish Pier, Coast Guard Pier, Maine State Ferry Service Terminal, North End wharves, Marie H. Reed Memorial Park and the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse.

The latter two are often venues for some spectacular wedding ceremonies.

It is also home to The Historic Inns Of Rockland, a consortium of six independently owned inns that are dedicated to historical preservation, as well as providing their guests with a memorable experience within a locale that has reinvented itself as a mecca for the arts and outdoor activities.

In addition, three of these inns, LimeRock Inn, Berry Manor Inn and Captain Lindsey House have created a sub-consortium that inter-change and leverage their facilities offering a combined wedding venue that take full advantage of their unique attributes.

As all are in walking distance of one another, you can avail yourself of anyone of them for the rehearsal dinner, afternoon bridesmaid’s tea, wedding reception, and any other functions.

The gorgeous outdoor gardens of The LimeRock Inn make it an ideal choice to exchange vows providing plenty of space to move around.

The stately Berry Manor Inn with its drawing room, spacious parlor, dining room, and grand stairway, all presenting a Victorian flair, make this inn a most attractive wedding venue.

You can even engage the services of Captain Ken Barnes to perform the wedding ceremony. He and his wife Ellen are owners of the Captain Lindsey House. The intimacy of the Captain Lindsey House, that incidentally resembles a European style hotel, along with the Barnes’ wonderful collection of décor, relics, and authentic antiques acquired during their many years of travel, will surely provide the wedding guests with some interesting topics for animated conversation.

The combined number of rooms of these three inns is twenty- nine, and if you add the other three inns, Old Granite Inn, Waterman House & Gardens, and the Lakeshore Inn, you have a total of forty- four rooms to call upon. All total with roll-aways and cots you could conceivably accommodate about one hundred guests.

What is also noteworthy is that all, with the exception of the Lakeshore Inn, are in walking distance of one another. It should be mentioned that the latter is within an easy ten- minute drive from the others.

What is also interesting about these inns is their close proximity to many outdoor venues where wedding ceremonies can be celebrated. Here is a sampling:

As mentioned above, the Marie H. Reed Memorial Park and the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, is a very popular wedding venue offering spectacular panoramic ocean views of mountains, islands, Penobscot Bay, as well as schooners, island ferries, fishing boats depart and enter the harbor. There is also a small sandy beach leading to the historic Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse.

Mt Battie located in Camden Hills State Park offers spectacular views of Camden, Penobscot Bay, and surrounding islands. During the autumn the foliage is breathtaking. If you are in the mood to add a little poetry to your ceremony, it should be pointed out that the famous poet and playwright, Edna St. Vincent Millay, who was born in Rockland, was inspired by the view from the summit of Mt. Battie when she wrote her poem “Renascence” which opens “All I could see from where I stood / Was three long mountains and a wood; / I turned and looked the other way, / And saw three islands in a bay.”

One of the most popular venues is the non-denominational Vesper Hill Children’s Chapel, set atop a rock ledge overlooking unbelievable lush gardens. The chapel can seat fifty, however, there are other spots nearby where you can exchange vows that will accommodate a larger party.

Don’t forget to check out the Merryspring Horticultural Nature Park with its herb and rose garden, the Perennial Border, and the Birds and Bees/Winter Color Garden. In late summer, the 250-foot long annual border is the star of the show, with some flowers blooming well into October.

Last but not least are the many lighthouses that attract couples from all over the globe. There is the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, the Owls Head Lighthouse and the Marshall Point Lighthouse

In order to reach these various venues and at the same time keep the wedding party together, many couples rent a trolley from the All Aboard Trolley Company.

In addition, the trolley provides you with the added feature of having some great photo opportunities.

No doubt, with all of these resources available and a little imagination, weddings in Rockland Maine can easily compete with the best of them at any other destination. One last important mention, in most instances it is necessary to contact the officials of your chosen venue in order to arrange a date and time for the celebration of your wedding.

A UNIQUE GIFT

If you are looking for that special gift for the bride, mother and daughter getaway, mother-in-law, or wedding attendants, the Lakeshore Inn, a member of the Historic Inns of Rockland, offers a reasonably priced Ladies Only Spa Weekend during the months of Mid-October through June. From their arrival on Friday evening until they depart on Sunday, groups of 4 to eight ladies experience a wonderful line up of mind and body presentations with learning sessions with spa treatments that include facial, massage, manicure, pedicure and paraffin wax treatments. In addition, owner Pam Masson serves mouth-watering gourmet meals.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A great place to pick up some excellent wines produced in Maine is Cellardoor Winery & Vineyards located in nearby Lincolnville.

For delicious sandwiches, soups, breads and pastries check out Atlantic Baking Co. You won’t be disappointed.

Fill Your Body With Chemicals Of Pleasure, Using No Drugs

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:05 pm

Experts agree that one best way to manage stress is through exercise. Exercise has been proven to relax the body and mind, burn fat, improve cardiovascular system, bring in more oxygen, reduce the chance of diseases, lower blood pressure and the list goes on. Best of all it even releases chemicals in the body called Endorphins that relax, re-energize and just make you feel darn good.

During the stress response, many chemical reactions occur in the body preparing it to what is known as the fight or flight response. During prehistoric days as cave dwellers, we had the opportunity to burn off our stress when an animal attacked, as it was a means of survival. We were able to run away or fight the threat immediately.

In today’s society, we do not have to fight a bear or tiger, so we do not have much of an outlet readily at hand to burn off the stress or pent up negative emotions. Therefore, we carry it with us creating emotional and physical problems. Exercise can help by providing an outlet for negative emotions such as worry, irritability, depression, hostility, anger, frustration, and anxiety. You can dissipate these feelings by simply taking it out on the tennis court, by running, or punching a bag. Regular exercise provides the opportunity to manage the fight or flight response and helps the body to return to a homeostasis or balanced state more quickly.

Exercise can also improve self-esteem and self worth by realizing that you are benefit directly. You may feel more outgoing and social because of the increased energy and also a better physique creating more confidence and positive self image. Your self-esteem may be enhanced by taking on exercise challenges or goals, giving you a feeling of accomplishment and reward.

Anaerobic vs. Aerobic Exercise: Aerobic exercise is an activity that uses major muscle groups such as walking, running, swimming, and cycling. This type of exercise strengthens your cardiovascular system by increasing your heart and respiratory rate and brings in more oxygen into the body. To reap the full benefits of aerobic exercise, you must be at 60%-80% of your target heart rate for at least 20 minutes, between three and five times a week.

To calculate your target heart rate use the following formula: Take 220 – (subtract) your age X (multiply 60%, or 70%, etc. intensity rate.) = Target heart rate (divide by six for a ten second pulse count. Take your pulse for ten seconds and gage where you are during the workout. Speed up the pace if you are below 60%.

Aerobic exercise is key to lose weight as it burns calories which are the energy consumed and adds fat to our bodies. Combined with a healthy diet it is a sure way to lose weight. One pound of body fat is equivalent to 3500 calories. To lose one pound, you must burn 3500 calories. It is easier to combine aerobics and create a small caloric deficit in your diet than to do one or the other solely.

Anaerobic exercise builds muscle strength and power. Isotonics and Isometrics are two kinds of anaerobic exercises.

Isotonics uses your muscles to contract against an object with movement such as weight lifting (also called strength or resistance training.) The benefits of isotonic exercises are stronger muscles, stronger bones, tone, prevent injuries, and condenses and shapes muscle for better esthetics.

Isometric exercise is contracting your muscles against resistance without movement. Such as lifting an object like a dumbbell and holding a position. You are isolating that muscle.

Use both types of anaerobic exercises to maximize your strength to build healthy, lean, and strong muscles.

Select exercises that you enjoy and can do for at least 20 minutes, three to five days a week. Exercise does not necessarily mean hitting the gym and making an ordeal out of it. It can simply be a walk around your neighborhood or dancing to some tunes. Try to think “activity” verses “exercise”. When you are in an active mind-frame, you will purposely park a little farther, do stretches at the computer, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.

Commit that you will begin to be more active and stick to your exercises or activities for 21 days. Why 21? Research has showed that it takes about 21 days to create a habit. Document how your feel after the 21 days. Your stress levels should be lowered, you should feel more energized, and see some physical changes such as a slimmer physique.

You may already know the benefits of exercise but are you doing it? So start by making a decision, begin slowly, then gradually work up to more and longer workout sessions. Know what you can handle and stick with it. Soon you will be addicted to the pleasure chemicals of a good workout. An addiction that can help you live longer and healthier.
