Fitness Workout Routines

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:31 am

There are a lot of fitness workout routines that are available. Some people like to focus on muscle development and toning, where others choose to work on their cardiovascular health. By far, the most dramatic results people will see is combining the two.

It is important to strengthen the body’s muscles, and that’s where weight training and isometrics come into play. Isometrics is exercise that uses body weight as the resistance, such as push ups and yoga poses like the plank position and side plank. Standard weight training exercises include, bicep curls, lateral raises and tricep extensions. It’s important to keep the muscles strong in order to perform daily activities without problems.

If a person already has toned muscles, but still has excess body fat covering them, then cardiovascular exercise is needs to be added into the fitness workout routines to burn that fat away. Cardiovascular exercise includes, running, swimming, and even walking, as long as the heart rate gets elevated for at least twenty minutes. Make sure not to get too out of breath. The “talk test” is used to find out if a person is overexerting themselves. If the person has to take a breath after one or two words, they are over doing it, but if they can sing the chorus of their favorite song without difficulty, they need to ramp it up.

It’s hard to say which is more important in fitness workout routines, strength training or cardiovascular exercise, they’re both important in acquiring a healthier body. It is best for a person to practice strength training three times a week, and to participate in cardiovascular activities five to six times a week. It is good to remember that if a person feels pain, they should stop the activity right away and talk to their doctor.
