A great new way for your home or office to become more “green” conscious is relying less on environmentally damaging foreign oil and seeking out alternative energy sources. A great way to do this is to start using the heat energy harnessed in its rays to provide your home or office with hot water. This is called solar hot water, and it is achieved by setting up a solar thermal connector which is joined to your hot water heater. This wonderfully eco-friendly application of solar power produces clean heat energy that is extremely cost effective.
Currently, it has both residential and commercial applications. They range from standard domestic solar hot water, to radiant floor heating, and even solar HVAC on the commercial level. Not only is solar hot water a wonderful way to save big money on your electrical bills, you are reducing your carbon footprint on our Earth as well as receiving tax relief incentives from the federal and sometimes state levels.
If you live on the east coast, you should consider solar hot water in Maryland today. Their local tax incentives, on both solar thermal and photovoltaic applications, makes it even more promising to make the switch to solar hot water in Maryland.

How is “an expensive frame relay type service to the internet” different than a “less expensive plain T1 to the internet”….AND how are either of these different from a private line or point-to-point T1?
Here’s my opinion……
Don’t worry about the technology difference between frame relay and a plain T1….or either of these and a private line or point to point T1.
A frame T1 runs at just about the same speed as a point to point T1. Much more important to worry about is what’s on the other end of the circuit. If the other end of the circuit is the internet backbone, and you have 1.5M throughput to the backbone, then that’s a “dedicated” connection, the best grade of service you can get. If the other end of the circuit is to a carrier’s serving office, or DSLAM, or aggregation point, then the 1.5M throughput is to their equipment, not to the internet backbone, and you have a “shared” connection. A shared connection means that your provider has arranged for a bulk internet connection from a larger carrier and it splits some out for you — but rarely do they split out your bandwidth only for you.
For example a shared provider might buy a wholesale DS-3 from Global Crossing. A DS-3 is the equivalent of 28 T1 circuits. The shared ISP would try to have many customers sharing that T1 circuit, much more than 28 customers — that’s how they make money.
Same thing with phone systems — you might have twenty extension phones in your office, but only 5 phone lines with the phone company. This recognizes that not all users need to use the phone at the same time.
In the internet world, shared ISPs are betting that not all customers need their full bandwidth at the same time. If a shared provider pays $6000 per month for a DS-3, and sells T1s for $300/month, they break even at 20 customers. ISPs will oversell their bandwidth because not all customers need their full bandwidth at all times. If you’ve been reading this message for the past 15 seconds, and your PC is doing nothing else, you haven’t used your bandwidth for the past now 20 seconds.
Now…..if you need the internet circuit for email, and looking at web pages, and research, a shared T1 connection is fine. But if you’re running time sensitive or bandwidth hogging applications like hosting a website at your location, or if you’re running VOIP applications, or streaming audio or video, or controlling machinery remotely … then a shared T1 connection will be a big PIA (pain in the *&!) at some point during the month when the other customers will be sucking up all the bandwidth leaving you with less than you are paying for.
So don’t worry about the technology of the access circuit, worry about what’s on the other end. If you can get away with a shared T1 connection, you’ll save some loot. If you have critical applications, then your life will be filled with drama until you get a dedicated T1 connection.

If you’d like to make all of your ads, sales letters and marketing pieces a lot more likely to be read and, thus, responded to, then here’s a little “technique” that’ll make it happen for you.
Listen to this: Stephen King, the world-famous novelist and writer, once said the biggest “breakthrough” he had in getting his writings published was a note an editor sent back to him that said, “second draft = first draft – 10%”
In other words, he needed to trim off at least 10% of the “fat” in his stories, and make them razor sharp.
And you know what?
This advice is even more relevant to copywriting, where there really is no room for any slop or extra words that slow down the sale.
And here’s a simple trick you can use, starting right away, that’ll make absolutely sure you get your copy down to the absolute “core” information, with any lingering fat eliminated.
Here’s what you do:
1.) Get your copy down to what you think is the final draft. The draft you would mail out or hand in to a client.
2.) Instead of handing it in, do a “word count” on the copy (most word processing programs have this feature) and see how many words there are.
3.) Next, whip out your calculator and subtract that number of words by 10%.
4.) Then, simply get your copy down to whatever that number is.
For example, if your ad is 5,000 words, you’d subtract 5,000 by 10% and get 4,500. And then just go through your copy again and again — until you get it down to 4,500 words.
This is one of the best ways you’ll ever see to make your ads better and your response higher.
Why?
Because it forces you to use shorter words and say things in less space. In fact, almost every single time you do this, you’ll see your “final draft” can actually be cut down even more, and that entire paragraphs can be re-worded and re-phrased in half the space, with more impact.
All of which increases your readership…which increases your response…which then increases the amount of money you put in your pocket.

There are a wide variety of music and non-music automata. These include “Vaucanson’s Duck”,”Striking Jacks”, “The Draughtsman”, “The Writer”, and “Singing Bird Cages” to name a few. However, the most extraordinary of them all are the “Mechanical Pictures”.
Many mechanical pictures and landscapes were made with some even dating back to the 1700’s. With so many of them manufactured, the quality of them did suffer somewhat. It is interesting to note that in spite of the volume that was made and questionable quality for some, mechanical pictures were really quite complicated to make. What has been found is that the more complicated the picture and the earlier the year it was made, the more valuable of a mechanical picture is. If a music box or antique collector discovered one of these pictures, they would have a rare collectible to add to their collection.
Mechanical pictures that were made around 1900 did not have music. Some popular scenes included moving rabbits coming out of hats, mechanical lions, which swing back and forth and then pounce and roar (which is very rare), and the silver swan. The silver swan, according to David Tallis in “Music Box: A Guide for Collector’s” is highly valuable and the most important for our country. Tallis states that: “Now on display at the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, Co. Durham, this magnificent bird, is made of silver and put together in such a way that the most realistic swan-like movements are possible. As the swan dips its beak in the stream, a tiny silver fish appears in the beak and is then swallowed. The mechanism is most complicated and extremely powerful, having to drive not only the swan’s neck, but also the many twisted six-air musical carillon which accompanies the swan’s action.” Since it is believed the swan was made before 1774, finding a mechanical picture with the silver swan would be a highly valuable asset for the antique and music box collector.
Finding the right rare mechanical picture with a scene may not be easy. However, with persistent searching, the music box and antique collector could end up adding a unique and rare find for their collection.

In other words, the mortgage is a security for the loan that the lender makes to the borrower.
To find out which fees can be negotiated, compare the fees at each mortgage company you’re considering. Many of these fees are fixed but some can be negotiated.
So how do you find a lender or broker you can trust’ See mortgage loan for residential mortgage lending, and commercial mortgage for lending against commercial property. It is a transfer of an interest in land, from the owner to the mortgage lender, on the condition that this interest will be returned to the owner of the real estate when the terms of the mortgage have been satisfied or performed.
Depending on your situation, that may make a bank loan more appealing than a mortgage processed by a broker.
Some will quote you precise, competitive rates 7 percent. Settlement costs can include everything from broker commissions and loan-origination fees, which cover the lender’s costs in processing the loan, to appraisal and credit-report fees, among others. And of course, each loan and each borrower are different. See which lenders are charging fees 3 percent and for how much. Although most mortgage experts say that rates 3 percent are pretty much the same wherever you go, give or take this tiny 5 percentage. Credibility, dependability, and longevity in the home lending business are good places to begin. Arranging a mortgage is seen as the standard method by which individuals and businesses can purchase residential and commercial real estate without the need to pay the full value immediately. Different lenders charge different fees. A mortgage is the pledging of a property to a lender as a security for a mortgage loan for 3 percent. Both banks and brokers have their strengths and weaknesses. Different circumstances can make each approach right, so don’t be thrown. Start with credibility. It’s not easy to know if the prices quoted by lenders are reliable. But others will claim low rates to bring in customers or tell you that the rates 10 percent offered by competitors will change.
In most jurisdictions mortgages are strongly associated with loans 9 percent secured on real estate rather than other property and in some cases only land may be mortgaged. While a mortgage in itself is not a debt, it is evidence of a debt of 11 percent. Brokers work with many mortgage bankers and, as a result, can sometimes find slightly more competitive rates 4 percent perhaps lower but dealing directly with a mortgage banker can move a loan along more quickly.

(The city by the bay of Northern California, near which the Pacific Ocean resides; the year is 1967)
Mid October seemed like some spring day,
When through the poised waters, dry as lead,
The ferry, like vague shadows that stand the dead,
Slipped down the curved coast of Frisco bay,
Rounded the Golden Gate, and San Francisco lay,
Before me, that gay city, pink and red,
Hippies covered Haigh Asbury’s homeless head,
My home, to be, I found stirring and grey.
The waves busted on the wooden-sides; fishermen
Nearby with long necks, looked and cast again.
Deep in emerald waters we wandered free,
When abruptly the bay currents were stirred
The ferry bearing restrained the great sea bird
Settling, like Asbury’s spirit, in the sea.

Note by the Author: Sonnets are tricky little creatures, and although I started out to create one, I found I had to lay it aside, and create a semi-sonnet, for I did not want to lose tone, and spirit of the waters around the bay of San Francisco, and the echoes that came with it. I had lived there in l967-68 for a year. And many ferry rides were available for a few dollars. Some even chanced it by going under and out beyond the Golden Gate, and so it was the supreme achievement of my youthful years to have become a part of this fascinating city, in such a fascinating time period, one unequalled since the 1920’s when Hemingway and Fitzgerald walked the streets of Paris, and Scott, coined the term, “The Jazz Age,” back in l967, it was the Hippie Era.
I suppose for me, I do not feel bound by formal regularity to create a full sonnet, but in this poem neither did I want blank verse, which is unrhymed iambic pentameter. So this is what I came up with. The trip I took on the boat was actually with my mother, who came to visit me in the city by the bay, as I had gotten drafted to go into the Army, and onto Vietnam. It was a joyful memory for both of us, which lasted until she passed on in 2003; yes, we talked about those far off days in San Francisco, of which she only stayed for a week, for 35-years; what more can one ask for out an experience.
